So let the games begin
Hi kids. It's post number one for Thrills. This is just going to be the ups and downs, the what it's like of publishing. I promise not to edit the crap out of it, or, God forbid, make it writerly.
Anyhoo: We're off to a big start, because yesterday the two paperback editions of THE LAST GOODBYE came out. Dianne and I went to Publix and Kroger, local grocery stores. Trippy to see it there. Went to Walmart, and they had ten copies. I've got a friend who's checking at Costco, who got a special Trade paper edition. So that was weird - HarperCollins says they couldn't get me into Costco before (not being a huge best-seller), but being good marketers, they pitched the idea of a special trade paper edition. Costco bit for 20k copies, so I'm there. Pretty thrilling.
My point is that authors are not immune to the pleasure of seeing their work on shelves. It's nice.
